Queer Shakespeare
From performance to cultural positioning
Sales are often seen as the end goal, but what if there is much more to build beyond that?A theatre production of a classic Shakespeare play could be promoted through standard marketing — cast images, dates, and tickets. But every production carries a distinct message for its audience. A generic approach would not reflect the depth of the concept or create engagement beyond the premiere.This particular production was a queer adaptation, developed from a director’s interpretation that Shakespeare may have embedded hidden clues around queer relationships and identities within the text.The promotional strategy was built around this idea, positioning the production as an exploration of hidden meanings within the original work. The focus shifted from promotion to meaning — building cultural connection through key community voices and transforming the production into a shared statement of identity.The result was strong visibility and deep audience resonance within the community. The opening night sold out, with consistent ticket sales across the season. More importantly, the production established a clear sense of belonging and identity that audiences connected with, creating anticipation for future work and positioning the company as a distinctive cultural voice within the local theatre scene.
Gentle Touch
From product to experience
How to introduce a new niche product to a new audience and generate early sales? Let people experience it. People buy when they can relate.A new tactile product entered a market where people had some familiarity with similar concepts, but no lived reference for the actual experience. Standard product marketing would typically focus on features, materials, product imagery, and direct calls to purchase. While this approach is essential, it often requires time to build trust and desire.To accelerate adoption, the launch strategy was built around experience from the start. People were invited to interact with the product directly through demonstrations, workshops, and client sessions. The focus was on allowing people to feel the product and understand it through personal experience.This created immediate product comprehension, strong engagement, and early adoption driven by personal connection. The brand achieved initial sales quickly, supported by high conversion from in-person interaction. Recognition was built through personal experience and emotional response.However, this was only part of the strategy. Alongside direct experience, equal attention was given to the atmosphere surrounding the product — the storytelling, tone, and visual language that defined how it was perceived. This created a distinct brand world, where the experience of the product and the feeling around it worked together to form a cohesive identity.
